Stay at Home to Defeat Corona: CM
Jaipur, March 19. To protect people of the State from Corona virus Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot has given directions to shut down all government and semi-government departments, local self-governance institutions, government corporations and boards barring few departments concerned with essential services. He has directed to postpone all examinations of students of all schools and colleges in the State till further orders.
Shri Gehlot was reviewing the situation of Corona virus infection in the state during a meeting held at the office of Chief Minister on Thursday. He said all suitable arrangements should be ensured immediately by taking lessons of prevention from this epidemic from various countries. He said next two weeks are especially important in regard to spreading of this virus and every person has to play the role of responsible citizen to win over this disease.
In the meeting it was decided that visitors will only come to the government departments, corporations and boards on having very important work.
No Shut Down in These Departments
There will be no shut down in Medical and Health, Medical Education, Ayurveda, Energy, all Electricity Corporation, Waterworks, Local Self Governance, Urban bodies, Home and Police, Prison, Home Guard and FSL, Finance, Food and Civil Supplies, Disaster Management and Assistance, Panchyati Raj, Information and Technology, Personnel (important branches), Transport including Roads and other Urban Bus Corporation, Jaipur Metro, General Administration, State Motor Garage, Legal and Information and Public Relations departments. In the remaining departments, 50% personnel will be present in the office and 50% personnel will Work from Home. Personnel can work online from home.
No leave, Personnel cannot Leave the Headquarters
The government has clarified that Shut Down does not mean Holiday/Leave. If required the personnel will have to come to office. There will be no permission to go on leave and leave the headquarters during this period except for medical reasons and important family circumstances. The shut down will not be applicable on officers at the level of deputy secretary and joint secretary in the secretariat, at the level of deputy director/executive engineer at the offices of head of the departments and officers above this level. At the district level, this shut down will not apply at the district collector office and district level officers. District level officer will decide the presence of minimum personnel in the office based on the rotation, which will not be more than 50%.
Spa, Club, Bar will Remain Closed
Shri Gehlot directed that spa, club, bar etc. in the State should be closed till further orders. He directed officers of the Labour department to ask all private factories to ensure cleanliness at the work place besides taking necessary prevention from the Corona virus. He directed that advisory should be issued to the private factory owners to provide the facility of Work from Home to their labourers and give leave with pay.
Chief Minister directed that MGRENGS labourers to be stopped from coming to the workplace will March 31. In this duration on asking employment, they should be paid the honorarium as per rule.
Action Against Those Who Are Not Following Home Isolation
Chief Minister in the meeting said that prevention is the best measure from this disease and people should stay at home. Persons identified with symptoms of this disease and if they do not follow the directions of home isolation, then action will be taken against them under section 188 of Indian Penal Code. Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health Department Shri Rohit Kumar Singh said that 1100 people in the State have been kept in home isolation of which 265 are in Jaipur.
Initiative of Khatu Shyamji Temple Trust Praiseworthy
Chief Minister welcomed the initiative of Khatu Shyamji Temple Trust to prohibit entry of devotees inside the temple for saving the life of people. He said other temple managing committees, trust and religious leaders should take such decision and play their role in stopping this pandemic. He said there is no religion bigger than protecting life of general public. Regular prayers can be continued in temples, but devotees coming to the temple should be totally prohibited. He said Mumba Devi, Siddhi Vinayak, Shirdi Sai Baba temple in Maharashtra, Mahakal temple in Ujjain and at other religious places, the trusts themselves came forward and prohibited devotees from coming to temple. Such initiative should be taken at all religious places in the State.
Ensure that Section 144 is Abided by Effectively
Chief Minister directed that the Government has imposed section 144 to stop gathering of crowd and it should be ensured that it being abided by effective in the interest of public. He also appealed the general public to completely abide by the directions issued by the government so that their life remains safe. He said the steps taken by the State Government to prevent spreading of Corona virus infection have been praised throughout the country. If general public behaves like a responsible citizen then this challenge can be successfully dealt with.
Shri Gehlot said efforts should be made to develop lab for investigation of this disease wherever possible including all medical colleges so that more and more people can get the facility of investigation on time.
